Did You See Him?


hello hello! I know i got all your hopes up that the big man would be standing up there at general conference. Crazy news.... he totally was!! Idk about you but there was something about watching conference off of my phone in our living room that made it AMAZING (; Ahhh how cool was that. THE TEMPLE IN CHINA!!! HOW CRAZY. IT'S HAPPENING!! i didn't have a FAVORITE because of course i loved them all... but how amazing was it when ELDER HOLLAND (; spoke so much about HOPE. if we don't have hope we don't have anything. If we lose hope we lose our LAST SUSTAINING POSSESSION. WE DID NOT COME THIS FAR TO ONLY COME THIS FAR. It's kinda like when you're on a run and you know that you will (hopefully) eventually get to a good pace but at the beginning you're SO uncomfortable and you know that if you just walk, all the pain will be over and the uncomfortableness, but if you just barely push past that, if you just don't give up you know you'll find that pace and it'll be SO worth it! you'll feel amazing and you just KILLED that run. When you walk you have time to stare at the ground and that's when satan takes every opportunity to slip thoughts of doubt, fear, unworthiness etc. In. It's his greatest tool!! So moral of the story.. go for runs basically!! (; We did it everyone, sister doane ACTUALLY LIKES to run now 😂 or at least acts like it because shes a good person haha also! The story of the boy that was about to burn the book of mormon and the CLEAR undeniable voice saying "do not burn my book" HOW COOL IS THAT. Theres no just ignoring that. The voice of the holy ghost can be so so subtle but so undeniable as well as clear as day. God gave me a car crash to tell me I needed to go on a mission... some people just need it louder I guess (;  this week started off with the flu and everyone was saying "kassi got corona" and well that got to the mission president and the mission nurse 😂😂 SO many calls in one night haha This week as you saw on Facebook we stole the elders bikes and I got 2 flat tires but it was SO cool!! Haha I was ready to walk all the way back but I KNEW there was going to be SOMETHING just sitting there saving us (; there had to be!! The miracle of the week... besides the amazing "fix a flat" that we didnt even know was a thing...
 we made a poster and set 10 copies of the book of mormon with our testimonies on a bus stop bench and checked on it every day. One day a man (shawn) was sitting there so of course sister doane and I used our gifted talents god gave us of becoming actresses on the spot, walked up to the bench and asked what in the world the book was. We got talking to the guy and convinced him to take one and call us when he read it to tell us if it was good and if it was, then we would read it (; we were so good and in the clear! Haha he did NOT fall for it and totally knew it was us but he still agreed to it and was willing to do it!! All the books are gone now! Sorry this email is kind of all over the place! I know anything and everything happens for an exact reason exactly when it needs to happen !! say your prayers, read your scriptures, TALK TO HIM. HE LOVES YOU AND WANTS TO TALK TO YOU!! HE WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU! i love love love you all!!

Welcome Home Sis. P

  This girl is on fire. She absolutely loves serving our Savior and teaching His gospel. She has exerted her light, spirit, energy giving all she had into serving but her little body just couldn’t keep up. This decision was not made lightly and included many doctors, tears, tests and prayers. She fought with all she had to stay but mission medical was firm. A resting heart rate of 39 doesn’t sit well with them. It is dangerously low. In order for her to live a healthy adult life she needed to return home where she can focus on her health rather than running herself into the ground giving to everyone around her. Many tears have been shed but she knows with her whole heart she left it all out in the field. She gave everything she had. We could not be prouder and are so excited to welcome her home!!! WASN'T CONFERENCE AMAZING?! A whole 8-10 hours of chastisement! haha really nothing better (; AH WE GOT TO LISTEN to the prophet himself! And his AMAZING apostles. How cool is it that we literally just got 2 days worth of THEIR time for OUR reward and benefit! That just seems to be how The Gospel works! For our own good! They're just so good. The church is just so true. Conference is christmas weekend as a missionary getting to watch SO MUCH TV! and eating like none. other... you always manage to leave conference in the "WOWWWW i could be doing SOOOO much better" mindset (eating wise too) haha i know i'm very very good at having the "be better" mindset right after conference! It's a gift really (; BUT i mean of course that's what conference is for! So that we CAN be better, so that we CAN become more like Christ in ALL. WE. DO.
