Can You Teach Me More About Marriage?

THIS WEEK WAS AMAZING!!!! Missionary work was at its peak this week i'd say. We were able to have SO many lessons. Including one that's my neighbor from home and I can't even put into words how amazing that has been and THE biggest blessing. LIKE HOW COOL IS IT THAT YOU LITERALLY NEVER KNOW HOW MANY LIVES YOU'RE REALLY AFFECTING!!! I just love this gospel. We got 4 new referrals this week from members and are about to start teaching them!! It's crazy how you can sit inside all day doing missionary work and by the end of the night feel INSANELY drained haha. I didn't even think that was possible.
Updates on some of the people we're teaching! Lynette has sadly slowly stopped replying, Amber.. sends us like 5 videos a day of her ranting about life haha love that woman. And well, getachew will not leave us alone about marriage. We have come to the sad realization that we are both very... non observant and have ignored the signs that he made up a story that he had a family so he could get to know us better and has secretly been searching for a wife... Ethiopia almost won that one.
Now to the dirt, this was THE longest week of our lives. It's SO hard to stay happy, motivated, feel like we're even doing anything... Some days we don't even feel like we're missionaries. More like college roomates just having movie nights watching book of mormon stories and having a book club everyday reading a really REALLY good book together haha (; It's definitely not easy and sometimes of course we don't even know why we're here but i know my testimony has grown now more than ever that I'm here for a reason. So i'm still determined to find it! I've turned to christ more than I ever have and it's seriously amazing watching what can come from it!
Of course we went on so many adventures tho! Even in the POURING rain. That just makes it more fun haha except for the fact that the humidity makes us feel like we've gained 200 lbs but the church is true so it's okay. We decided we're going to be known around the whole town because we go on runs everyday but realize half way through that we're literally on the side of a highway with zero sidewalk ðŸ™ƒ Overall we ran around 20 miles this week! You'd think we would lose weight but it's weird that if you eat 70 cookies a day it doesn't seem to work as much (;
GENERAL CONFERENCE IS IN 5 DAYS!!!!!! How insanely excited are you to see jesus christ himself standing at the pulpit- the last speaker of the last session?? (; One of my good pals Elder nicholas buckwalter posted something that stuck out to me a ton. Everyone has been so focused on the insane news that could most definitely be shared this weekend but what if we look at it more like what if christ is really just wanting us to focus more on a restoration for ourselves. What TRUTHS is he wanting YOU to restore for yourself? What if he is just wanting us to give ourselves a second chance to become better? The ward sister doane and i are apart of is literally amazing. On sunday we had a virtual testimony meeting and it was hands down the most amazing and spiritual church meeting we've ever had. I just want to invite you to really think about what the answer to that might be this week. Pray about it, keep doing amazing things and keep doing come follow me! I love you all!

Welcome Home Sis. P

  This girl is on fire. She absolutely loves serving our Savior and teaching His gospel. She has exerted her light, spirit, energy giving all she had into serving but her little body just couldn’t keep up. This decision was not made lightly and included many doctors, tears, tests and prayers. She fought with all she had to stay but mission medical was firm. A resting heart rate of 39 doesn’t sit well with them. It is dangerously low. In order for her to live a healthy adult life she needed to return home where she can focus on her health rather than running herself into the ground giving to everyone around her. Many tears have been shed but she knows with her whole heart she left it all out in the field. She gave everything she had. We could not be prouder and are so excited to welcome her home!!! WASN'T CONFERENCE AMAZING?! A whole 8-10 hours of chastisement! haha really nothing better (; AH WE GOT TO LISTEN to the prophet himself! And his AMAZING apostles. How cool is it that we literally just got 2 days worth of THEIR time for OUR reward and benefit! That just seems to be how The Gospel works! For our own good! They're just so good. The church is just so true. Conference is christmas weekend as a missionary getting to watch SO MUCH TV! and eating like none. other... you always manage to leave conference in the "WOWWWW i could be doing SOOOO much better" mindset (eating wise too) haha i know i'm very very good at having the "be better" mindset right after conference! It's a gift really (; BUT i mean of course that's what conference is for! So that we CAN be better, so that we CAN become more like Christ in ALL. WE. DO.
